Tittarelli Malbec Reserva

Complex and Textured With an Intensity That Rivals Reds Twice the Price...
Malbec (also known in Bordeaux as the Cot) is one of the blending grapes used throughout Bordeaux, but it rarely was used as a single varietal, although more was used years ago in the Bourg and Blaye appellations. It is also the primary grape in the Cahors region (known locally as Auxerrois) where the blend must be at least 70% Malbec. Argentina has shown Malbec to be exceptionally well-suited to the soil and climate and is moving toward being the most planted grape in the country. One could say that the success of the Malbec wine in Argentina has put this South American country among the best wine producing areas of the world.

Tasting Notes:
“This wine shows as deep red/purple color with red fruits, spicy plum, herbs, and eucalyptus flavors. Complex and textured, the oak aging of this reserve adds considerable depth to the wine, with an intensity that rivals reds twice the price. The tannins, although well-integrated, are quite smooth and yield a wine with good length. Absolutely a great value for purity and richness of flavors, it gives you satisfaction few wines can match. Don’t miss this.”

Tittarelli Winery
Tittarelli is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in all of Argentina. Founded by Enrique Tittarelli in 1915, just after his arrival from Italy.Tittarelli owns over 1800 hectares (4500 acres) of vines right below the Andes Mountains, an area with an exceptional micro-climate which makes it possible to grow high-quality grapes. The company is divided into two wineries, which combine tradition and technology to create wines of excellent character.

The 33 degree south latitude is a special geographic point as the climate of this zone is characterized by a large swing in temperatures. These conditions, together with the scarce rainfall and the sandy and permeable soil make the ‘cuyana’ area the most suitable for growing grapes, making it possible to compete with and even excel the best and most traditional European wineries.

Achieving excellent wine at the vineyard requires expert work. A team of professionals and specialists, highly qualified, with technicians and workers continues today the legacy of three generations which has made and makes Tittarelli great. The loam sandy, calcareous soils, the good drainage, as well as the scarce rainfall turns the area into a unique environment to cultivate grape vines that yield high quality wines, able to compete with the best in the world.
