Legado Chardonnay

This wine comes from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown at 2500 feet of elevation in extremely rocky soil which means great drainage for the vines. We experienced good weather prior to harvest, allowing the grapes to achieve optimum ripeness as we quickly harvested by hand.

TASTING NOTES:The wine has a rich golden color leading to a bouquet of peach, apple, and citrus fruitcharacteristics. Medium bodied in the mouth with wellbalanced acidity showing soft hints of pineapple andcitrus flavors. A touch of vanilla from the oak leads to nice length and a finish that is fresh with soft acidity. An exceptional white wine to serve with poultry, grilled seafood, cheeses, or simply on its own.

This refreshing and elegant Legado 2008 Chardonnay is a star bright medium lemon color with an aromatic nose of ripe melon and tropical citrus. It has a soft attack with bright acidity and is very nicely balanced with touch of a sweet oak and ripe melon. One of the best Chardonnays we have tasted at this price!

Founder, Tomas Machado’s family ancestor Don Manuel de Villefane began making wine in Argentina in the year 1611, which gives us nearly 400 years of wine making experience here in the heart of South America. This impressive winery represents his ‘Legacy’ or ‘Legado’ (in Spanish), and we are proud to honor his memory with these fine wines of Maipu, Mendoza.
