Legado Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine comes from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown at 2500 feet of elevation in extremely rocky soil which means great drainage for the vines. This vintage had superb weather prior to harvest, allowing the grapes to achieve optimum ripeness as we quickly harvested by hand.

TASTING NOTES:Shows a full ruby color with an expressive nose of red and dark berries, violet, cassis, and a hint of cedar. In the mouth, it is full bodied with rich notes of blackcurrant and spice. Extremely well balanced with supple tannins and a long finish. Serve with any red meats, and especially lamb or game…..beautiful with cheeses.

"The medium-ruby Legado 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon also has a fresh youthful character. It displays black cherry fruit aromas, a medium weight palate with spicy, pure red plum and black currant fruit. It is nicely balanced and easy drinking with good tannic grip."

Founder, Tomas Machado’s family ancestor Don Manuel de Villefane began making wine in Argentina in the year 1611, which gives us nearly 400 years of wine making experience here in the heart of South America. This impressive winery represents his ‘Legacy’ or ‘Legado’ (in Spanish), and we are proud to honor his memory with these fine wines of Maipu, Mendoza.
